About my work:
All of my pyrography art starts with me free hand drawing an original design directly to the wood, with a graphite pencil. My inspiration generally comes from nature, I’ve come to enjoy heavy detail and realistically drawing animals/pets. I’ll then hand burn, with a single pen woodburning detailer. As of right now, I’m burning mostly on slabs of live edge walnut basswood, and pieces of actual ski cores; consisting of aspen, beetlewood, and maple locally sourced from a ski manufacturer here in Denver, CO. Sometimes I’ll add pops of color using watercolor that soaks into the grain. To cure wood, I use Linseed oil, beeswax, or danish oil that brings out the natural warmth of the grain and enhances the depth of the art.
**currently selling originals and creating custom pet portraits on a client by client basis, after a consultation.
